These earrings are part of my Silk Road Collection. I was inspired by a carpet bought years ago with a large medallion in the center. I really love the sinuous shape. I began by making the frame out of silver wire. Eventually I soldered the wire over a flat piece and carved out an organic design. It was spontaneous really. I did quite a few before I settled on the final design. I think it's a classically elegant shape inspired ancient architecture. Reflecting the domes and spires of cities along the Silk Road from China to the Middle East. It comes in many forms, geometric, curved or floral, and never fails to create a harmonious composition. For centuries it has adorned carpets, tapestries and tiles. And definitely lends itself well to jewelry.

Care instructions
Precious metals tarnish. For best results after use place jewelry in a sealed bag. For sterling silver you can use commercial silver polish and follow directions. However, oxidized silver should not be polished as it will change the black tones and de-color.
Gold plated sterling silver or gold plated brass cannot be polished. It is best to store and seal them in a fabric or plastic bag after use. If necessary you may wipe with a soft damp cloth.
It is best not to shower or swim with jewelry.
